Laminam was founded in 2001 as the result of an idea that Franco Stefani, an innovator in the ceramic industry, wanted to develop. This led to the invention of this product and the creation of the technology needed to manufacture it.
Today Laminam produces large-size porcelain slabs used in many applications in traditional and advanced architecture, furnishing and design. The slabs are available in two formats, the 1000x3000mm (39.4”x118.1“) format and the XL format 1620x3240mm (63.8”x 127.6”), with thickness varying from 3 to 20 mm (from 1/8’’ to 3/4’’).
TECHNOLOGIES, EFFICIENCY, EXCELLENCE
Laminam’s highly automated production process (industry 4.0) is used to manufacture a revolutionary, large-size porcelain slab in a range of thicknesses. Most of the technologies used at Laminam were created by the System Group, the all-time top provider of equipment for the ceramic industry. This guarantees Laminam access to experimental techniques and processes, giving it a competitive edge. The manufacturing process at Laminam revolves around an exclusive system to compact clays and feldspars that have been selected and refined with great care. The sophisticated technologies used at Laminam include cutting-edge decoration and dry cutting systems that reduce water consumption and purification costs. Recycling raw materials and energy are among the founding principles of our production system.
3 PRODUCTION FACTORIES
THREE FACTORIES, ONE TECHNOLOGY
Three production locations with one technology applying the “Laminam model” of being efficient and at the cutting edge. The main factory is in Fiorano Modenese, in the heart of the Italian province of Modena. Two new production sites have been added, tripling our production capacity. The first, in Borgotaro (PR), is entirely dedicated to XL slabs (1620×3240 mm - 63.8”x127.6“). The second, in Vorsino Industrial Park, not far from Moscow, exclusively produces the 1000×3000mm (39.4”x118.1“) size slabs.
A RESPONSIBLE COMPANY
Natural raw materials, sustainable technologies (low energy consumption, zero emission of pollutants, low CO2 emissions) and products that can be entirely recycled are the three pillars at the heart of Laminam’s eco-friendly approach. Our production processes emit only water vapor into the atmosphere and production waste is reused in other applications, without exploiting additional resources. Compared to similar traditional products, the light weight and compact size of the products help to limit the environmental impact of shipping.
Laminam exercises control over every stage of the production process, in line with principles established by national and international standards such as:
> UNI EN ISO 9001 / International quality management system standard
> UNI EN ISO 14021 (regolamento LEED e BREEAM) Products with at least 20% pre-consumer recycled material in the body (LEED 20)
> UNI EN ISO 14021 (regolamento LEED e BREEAM) Products with at least 30% pre-consumer recycled material in the body (LEED 30)
> UNI EN ISO 14021 (regolamento LEED e BREEAM) Products with at least 40% pre-consumer recycled material in the body (LEED 40)
> UPEC / French flooring material quality certification*
> ITB / Polish quality certification
> RINA / Standard for the use of our materials in shipyards
> CCC / Chinese certification for low Zirconium content
